The 9th Lichfield (Saxon Hill) Scout Group

During 2009 we began a relationship with the Scouts movement which resulted in us registering our own group in early 2010.  Our Scout Group is unique, being one of only 3 in the country whose members consist entirely of SEN students. It is led by staff from school who volunteer their own time after school to lead our young people in a range of fun activities.

Kim Thomas is Akela.

We have a current membership of 20 and meet each week after school on a Tuesday (4pm to 5pm).

In summer 2010 the scouts camped under canvas in the school grounds, cooked on open fires and enjoyed

camp-fire songs.

We are proud to attend district events and the St Georges Day Parade through Lichfield is a time when we meet scouts from the other groups in the Lichfield district.

9th Lichfield (Saxon Hill) Scouts have now been running for 2 years and we feel that we have achieved a great deal.  We now have 2 volunteers Trish and Toni who have been a great help for the group and have brought lots of skills and new ideas.
